Zinc finger MYND domain-containing protein 19 (ZMYND19) is a protein coded by the ZMYND19 gene, highly conserved across species and characterized by a MYND-type zinc finger domain. It was originally discovered as a protein from human brain tissue that interacts with the C-terminus of melanin-concentrating hormone receptor 1 (MCH-R1; also known as GPR24), as well as the N-termini of alpha- and beta-tubulin. ZMYND19 may serve as a regulatory protein linking membrane receptor signaling (via MCH-R1) to microtubule-associated proteins, but its specific biological functions have yet to be fully clarified. The gene has been associated with Kleefstra syndrome 1, but no direct role in common therapeutic areas or with any known drugs has been reported.
