Zinc finger protein 100 (ZNF100) is a human protein belonging to the C2H2-type zinc finger protein superfamily, which are characterized as DNA-binding transcription factors with a zinc finger domain critical for binding DNA[6][7]. ZNF100 is predicted to regulate transcription by binding to specific DNA sequences at or near RNA polymerase II-dependent promoter and enhancer regions[7]. Zinc finger proteins as a class have broad roles in regulating gene expression and are implicated in cell differentiation, development, and disease processes, but there is limited direct evidence that ZNF100 is a therapeutic target or has established roles beyond acting as a gene regulator in the nucleus[1][3][6][7]. Disease associations reported for ZNF100 are mainly based on genetic studies suggesting a link to prostate cancer and diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis[7]; explicit drug targeting, biomarker use, or safety concerns for ZNF100 specifically have not been described in the literature.
