Overview

Zinc finger protein 101 pseudogene 2 (ZNF101P2) is a human pseudogene located on chromosome 1q31.2. Pseudogenes are DNA segments similar to functional genes but are generally non-coding due to mutations or truncations that prevent protein production. ZNF101P2 shares sequence homology with zinc finger protein genes, which in general function as DNA-binding transcription factors. However, there is no evidence that ZNF101P2 is transcribed or translated into a functional protein, nor has it been implicated in any known physiological or pathophysiological processes. It is not considered a therapeutic target, and there are no drugs or clinical interventions associated with this pseudogene. Key points: - ZNF101P2 is a pseudogene, not an active gene or receptor. - Not a therapeutic target: It does not encode a protein or have known biological activity, so is not targeted in any disease or pathway. - No known disease or drug interactions: Has not been linked to pathology, drug action, or use as a biomarker.
