Overview

Zinc finger protein 135 (ZNF135) is a C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factor featuring a Krüppel-associated box (KRAB) domain, encoded on chromosome 19q13.43[2]. It is predicted to function as a DNA-binding transcription factor, specifically regulating transcription mediated by RNA polymerase II and is thought to influence cell morphology and cytoskeletal organization, possibly via transcriptional regulation of key genes[4][5][6]. ZNF135 belongs to a large family of zinc finger proteins involved in a spectrum of biological processes including gene expression, development, and differentiation. While the broader zinc finger family is implicated in disease processes such as cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and immune response disorders[1][3], there is currently no direct evidence indicating ZNF135's involvement as a therapeutic target or in drug interactions.
