Zinc finger protein 14 (ZNF14) is a member of the C2H2-type zinc finger protein family, the largest group of human transcription factors[1][4][5]. These proteins are characterized by the presence of 'zinc finger' motifs—small structural domains stabilized by binding zinc ions, which allow them to interact with specific DNA sequences and regulate transcription. ZNF14, like other zinc finger proteins, is involved in diverse cellular processes including transcription regulation, cell fate determination, and development. The protein may play a role in the transcriptional repression of gonadotropin-responsive genes, particularly in ovarian tissue. The broader zinc finger protein family is essential for gene regulation and has been implicated in maintaining genome stability[4]. However, ZNF14 itself is not broadly recognized as a therapeutic target or biomarker, and there are currently no drugs or interventions that specifically target its function. No safety or therapeutic concerns have been identified for ZNF14 in published research[1][3][4][5].
