Zinc finger protein 22 is a member of the Krueppel C2H2-type zinc finger protein family, which functions primarily as a DNA-binding transcription factor. ZNF22 binds to DNA via its C2H2 zinc finger motifs and is implicated in transcriptional regulation and potentially in tooth development in humans[3][5]. While zinc finger domains are broadly important in development, cell proliferation, and differentiation, there is currently no direct evidence that ZNF22 acts as a receptor, enzyme, or other primary therapeutic target.
