Zinc finger protein 239 (ZNF239) is a DNA- and RNA-binding protein of the C2H2-type zinc finger protein family, primarily localized in the nucleus within nuclear ribonucleoprotein (RNP) components such as nucleoli and extranucleolar structures[1][2][3][4][5][6][8][9][10][13][14]. ZNF239, also known as MOK2 or HOK2, may play a role in the regulation of gene expression and transcriptional regulation, and interacts with lamin A/C (LMNA)[1][3][7][10]. Mutations or altered expression of ZNF239 have been associated with several diseases, including various cancers, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and developmental disorders[1][5]. There is currently no evidence that it is a direct therapeutic target for drugs or relevant as a biomarker in clinical settings[5][13].
