Overview

Zinc finger protein 260 (ZNF260) is a C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factor predicted to enable DNA-binding, especially targeting promoter regions for RNA polymerase II-driven transcription, and acts as a cofactor—particularly in cardiac tissue, where it functions as an effector in alpha1-adrenergic signaling and can cooperatively activate genes such as ANF/NPPA with GATA4, a cardiac regulator[1]. It is primarily localized in the cytosol and nucleoplasm and belongs to the broader family of zinc finger transcription factors, which are widely involved in sequence-specific DNA binding and modulation of gene expression[1][3]. There is no evidence from the search results that ZNF260 is currently a therapeutic target, nor are there known interacting drugs or disease roles directly attributed to this protein[1].
