Zinc finger protein 275 (ZNF275)

ZNF275
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Zinc finger protein, C2H2-type zinc finger protein
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 275 is a C2H2-type zinc finger protein encoded by the ZNF275 gene, located on chromosome Xq28[2][3][7]. It is part of the largest family of human transcription factors, characterized by zinc finger motifs that mediate DNA binding and regulate gene expression[1][5]. The specific biological function of ZNF275 remains largely uncharacterized, though it is conserved across eutherian mammals[3][7]. Recent evidence suggests an elevated role in cervical cancer, where increased ZNF275 expression promotes tumor proliferation and migration, potentially via the AKT/Bcl-2 signaling pathway[2]. Downregulation of ZNF275 inhibits tumor growth and can sensitize tumors to chemotherapy agents such as cisplatin when combined with AKT pathway inhibition[2]. No specific small-molecule drugs directly target ZNF275, but its expression levels may influence sensitivity to certain anti-cancer regimens. No well-documented non-oncology disease roles or safety liabilities are currently established for ZNF275.
