Zinc finger protein 28 homolog (ZFP28)

Target
ZFP28
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Zinc finger protein (C2H2-type motif, general family)
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 28 homolog (ZFP28) is a human protein that may participate in transcriptional regulation and possibly play a role in embryonic development. It belongs to the large family of zinc finger transcription factors, typically containing finger-like domains that mediate sequence-specific DNA binding. Zinc finger proteins regulate gene expression and influence multiple cellular processes, such as cell differentiation and apoptosis, through a variety of DNA, RNA, and protein interactions. Although other zinc finger proteins are involved in cancers and other diseases, there is currently no direct evidence associating ZFP28 itself with human disease roles or as a therapeutic target.
