Zinc finger protein 29 pseudogene (ZNF29P) is a non-functional genomic sequence in humans, classified as a pseudogene and related to the zinc finger protein family, specifically the protein formerly known as KOX26 or ZNF29[1][4]. Zinc finger proteins typically function as transcription factors involved in diverse gene regulatory processes, cell development, and disease, but ZNF29P itself does not encode a functional protein and shows no reported biological activity or disease involvement[1][3][4]. ZNF29P is not considered a therapeutic target, biomarker, nor is it implicated in pharmacological interventions. It is sometimes referred to as KOX26, ZNF29, or zinc finger protein 29 (KOX 26), but the functional protein corresponding to these names is not produced from the ZNF29P locus[1][4].
