Zinc finger protein 3 homolog (ZFP3)

Target
ZFP3
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Zinc finger protein (C2H2-type)
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 3 homolog (ZFP3) is a member of the C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factors, predicted to function as a DNA-binding transcription factor regulating transcription via RNA polymerase II[3]. ZFP3 contains characteristic zinc finger motifs involved in DNA recognition and is part of the largest family of transcription regulators in the human genome[2][3]. In model organisms, ZFP3 homologs are associated with transcriptional responses to environmental stress or development, but for the human ortholog, strong evidence for a direct functional or disease role is limited. There are no known drug interactions or uses as a clinical biomarker, and ZFP3 itself is not currently recognized as a therapeutic target or disease-associated gene in humans[3].
