Target
ZNF300
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, C2H2-type zinc finger protein, KRAB (Krüppel-associated box) domain-containing protein
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 300 (ZNF300) is a member of the KRAB (Krüppel-associated box) and C2H2-type zinc finger protein family, functioning primarily as a transcriptional repressor. ZNF300 binds to specific DNA sequences, modulating the transcription of multiple genes, likely through mechanisms involving both DNA methylation and histone modification. It is implicated in the regulation of cell differentiation—particularly in hematopoietic (blood) cells—and is dysregulated in several cancers, including leukemia and cervical cancer. However, ZNF300 is not currently established as a direct therapeutic target, nor are drugs or clinical biomarkers specifically associated with this protein[1][2][3].
