Target intelligence / Profile preview

Zinc finger protein 322 (ZNF322)

Target
ZNF322
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Zinc finger protein, C2H2-type zinc finger family
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 322 (ZNF322) is a transcriptional activator and a member of the C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factor family. It promotes gene transcription and is involved in positive regulation of stem cell maintenance, pluripotency, and embryonic heart development through regulation of MAPK signaling pathways. ZNF322 binds directly to promoters and enhancers of key pluripotency factors such as POU5F1 and NANOG, influencing expression levels and stem cell fate decisions. It is expressed widely in adult and developing human tissues, and localizes to the nucleus and cytoplasm. Currently, ZNF322 is recognized for its role in transcriptional regulation rather than as a direct therapeutic target.
