Zinc finger protein 33A pseudogene

Molecular classification
Pseudogene, Transcription factor related, Zinc finger protein related
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 33A pseudogene is a non-functional segment of DNA similar to the functional zinc finger protein 33A gene. It does not encode a protein and is not considered a therapeutic target. Zinc finger protein 33A (the parental gene) is part of a large gene family of transcription factors characterized by zinc finger motifs that mediate DNA binding and regulate gene transcription[1][2][3][4][5]. However, the pseudogene version does not produce a functional protein.
