Zinc finger protein 33C pseudogene (ZNF33CP) is a non-protein-coding pseudogene related to the zinc finger family of proteins. Zinc finger proteins are among the largest families of transcription factors, involved in diverse cellular processes such as gene regulation, DNA and RNA binding, protein-protein interactions, and chromatin remodeling[1][3][4][5]. However, as a pseudogene, ZNF33CP does not encode a functional protein and is not believed to have independent biological activity. Pseudogenes like ZNF33CP sometimes play roles in gene expression regulation at the RNA level, but there is currently no evidence of such a function for ZNF33CP. It is not recognized as a therapeutic target.
