Zinc finger protein 385B (ZNF385B)

Target
ZNF385B
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Nucleic acid binding protein, Zinc finger protein
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 385B (ZNF385B) is a nuclear transcription factor containing zinc finger domains responsible for nucleic acid binding[3][6]. It is involved in intrinsic apoptotic signaling via p53/TP53-mediated pathways, enabling p53 binding activity, and contributes to regulation of apoptosis within cells[2][3][8][1][10]. Expression of ZNF385B is nuclear and varies across tissues, with noted relevance in neurological tissues[7]. Genetic variations in ZNF385B are associated with autism spectrum disorder and may hold further yet-to-be-established disease roles[2]. No direct pharmacologic agents currently target this protein, and its biomedical significance lies chiefly in transcriptional regulation and apoptosis rather than as a direct therapeutic target.
