Zinc finger protein 416 is a human protein encoded by the *ZNF416* gene. It is a member of the zinc finger protein family, which typically function as transcription factors by binding DNA in a sequence-specific manner and regulating gene expression[1][5][9]. ZNF416 is predicted to enable DNA-binding transcription factor activity specific for RNA polymerase II cis-regulatory region sequences[3][9]. It is thought to participate in several cellular processes such as the regulation of gene expression, proteasomal protein catabolic pathways, protein phosphorylation, cardiac muscle hypertrophy, and cell growth dynamics during cardiac muscle cell development[1][3]. ZNF416 acts in the cell nucleus. While ZNF416 and other zinc finger proteins are sometimes implicated in the pathogenesis of diverse diseases, including developmental syndromes and cancer, there is currently no well-established therapeutic targeting, direct disease association, or known interacting drug for ZNF416 itself[1][6][9].
