Target intelligence / Profile preview

Zinc finger protein 418 (ZNF418)

Target
ZNF418
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Zinc finger protein, Krueppel C2H2-type zinc finger family
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 418 is a nuclear DNA-binding transcriptional repressor belonging to the Krueppel C2H2-type zinc finger family. It is involved in the regulation of transcription mediated by RNA polymerase II, as well as in cellular protein degradation processes such as the ubiquitin-proteasome and autophagy-lysosomal pathways. There is limited evidence associating ZNF418 with diseases, with some implication in ovarian squamous cell carcinoma, but it is not currently recognized as a therapeutic target
