Zinc finger protein 419 (ZNF419) is a human protein-coding gene encoding a member of the C2H2-type zinc finger protein family. It is predicted to function as a DNA-binding transcription factor, playing a role in regulating gene expression, especially by binding to cis-regulatory sequences and regulating transcription mediated by RNA polymerase II. ZNF419 is primarily localized to the nucleus. Gene Ontology and related resources predict its main activity as transcriptional regulation. Current research links genetic alterations or dysregulation of ZNF419 to cancer (notably prostate cancer) and hereditary retinal dystrophy, though its precise mechanistic involvement in these diseases is not fully defined. There are no known drugs that directly target ZNF419, nor is it currently considered a practical pharmacological target.
