Zinc finger protein 425 (ZNF425) is a human protein of 752 amino acids, recognized as a KRAB-domain-containing zinc finger transcription factor[2]. It functions primarily as a transcriptional repressor, interacting with DNA via C2H2 zinc finger motifs to regulate gene expression[1][2][3][5]. ZNF425 is predominantly expressed during early embryonic development, with minimal expression in adult tissues[2]. Overexpression of ZNF425 has been shown to inhibit transcriptional activities of serum response element (SRE), activator protein 1 (AP-1), and serum response factor (SRF), mainly through its C2H2 domain, suggesting a role in modulating the MAP kinase signaling pathway[2][9].
