Zinc finger protein 429 (ZNF429) is a member of the large family of C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factors, characterized by tandem zinc finger motifs that enable binding to specific DNA sequences and regulation of gene transcription[2][3][4]. ZNF429 is predicted to enable DNA-binding transcription factor activity, particularly in RNA polymerase II-dependent gene regulatory regions, and is localized to the nucleus[3]. While specific biological or disease functions unique to ZNF429 have not been thoroughly described in the literature, the broader family (KRAB-ZFPs and C2H2-type zinc finger proteins) is known to participate in regulation of gene expression, silencing of transposable elements, and potentially influencing development and disease states, including cancer[1][3].
