Target intelligence / Profile preview

Zinc finger protein 436 (ZNF436)

Target
ZNF436
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Zinc finger protein
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 436 (ZNF436) is a member of the zinc finger transcription factor family, predicted to function as a DNA-binding transcription factor and may act as a transcriptional repressor. It is involved in the regulation of gene transcription mediated by RNA polymerase II, and may negatively regulate transcription in certain signaling pathways, such as the MAPK pathway. Mutations in ZNF436 are associated with specific neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative conditions, but it is not recognized as a therapeutic target, nor are its interacting drugs or mechanisms of action well-characterized in the literature[1][3][4][5][9].
