Overview

Zinc finger protein 45 (ZNF45) is a member of the zinc finger protein family, which are defined by their characteristic zinc finger motifs that coordinate zinc ions and typically mediate DNA, RNA, or protein interactions[1]. ZNF45 is predicted to act as a DNA-binding transcription factor that regulates the expression of target genes by modulating DNA-templated transcription, and is predominantly located in the nucleoplasm[2][3]. Diseases associated with ZNF45 include retinal macular dystrophies. No evidence exists that ZNF45 functions as a therapeutic target, nor are its direct drug interactions, biomarker utility, or safety concerns currently documented[2][5].
