Zinc finger protein 467 (ZNF467) is a transcription factor that binds DNA and regulates gene expression. Its function in humans is not fully elucidated, but the mouse ortholog is known to promote differentiation of adipocytes (fat cells) and suppress differentiation of osteoblasts (bone-forming cells) in bone marrow. It can recruit histone deacetylase complexes, interact with STAT3 at the acute phase response element (APRE), and activate transcription of several target genes involved in cell lineage commitment[1][2][5][7][8]. No direct links to therapeutically relevant disease processes or known drug interactions have been reported for the human protein.
