Zinc finger protein 470 (ZNF470) is a member of the zinc finger protein family and encodes a putative DNA-binding transcription factor predicted to regulate gene expression through modulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. ZNF470 is expressed in chondrocytes and its mRNA abundance varies in different stages of chondrogenesis, suggesting a possible role in cartilage development and homeostasis; it is not currently considered a direct therapeutic target or biomarker, nor are there known drugs that selectively modulate its activity. It is mapped to chromosome 19 and localizes to the nucleus, consistent with its function in the regulation of gene transcription.
