Zinc finger protein 484 (ZNF484) is a member of the C2H2-type zinc finger protein family, which are the most abundant class of transcription factors in the human genome[1][2]. ZNF484 is predicted to bind DNA and regulate transcription through interaction with RNA polymerase II, supported by the presence of characteristic zinc finger motifs and KRAB domains that mediate DNA binding and regulatory functions[3][5][6][7]. Although zinc finger proteins as a family are involved in genomic stability and DNA repair mechanisms, ZNF484 itself remains functionally uncharacterized in the current literature, with no direct implication as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or in drug interactions. ZNF484 is primarily localized to the nucleus[7], consistent with its predicted role in regulating gene expression. There is no evidence at present that ZNF484 is directly implicated in a human disease or that it is being targeted therapeutically. As a generic member of the KRAB-containing zinc finger protein superfamily, future studies may clarify its specific roles in health or pathology[1].
