Zinc finger protein 490 (ZNF490) is a human protein encoded by the ZNF490 gene, classified as a C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factor. ZNF490 is predicted to function in the nucleus, enabling sequence-specific DNA binding and playing a role in the regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. The protein is generally thought to modulate gene expression by acting as either an activator or repressor of transcription through direct binding to DNA.
