Zinc finger protein 519 pseudogene 2 (ZNF519P2) is classified as a pseudogene—a non-functional genetic element resembling the functional zinc finger protein 519 gene. Unlike its protein-coding counterpart, ZNF519P2 does not encode a protein and has no established biological function, disease association, drug interactions, or therapeutic relevance. Pseudogenes like ZNF519P2 are typically regarded as genomic "fossils" resulting from gene duplication or retrotransposition events that have lost their biological activity due to mutations or lack of regulatory elements.
