Zinc finger protein 546 (ZNF546) is a protein coding gene encoding a transcription factor characterized by C2H2-type zinc finger domains, facilitating sequence-specific DNA binding and regulation of gene expression, primarily as a modulator of RNA polymerase II-mediated transcription. ZNF546 is predicted to be active in the cell nucleus and may participate in key regulatory processes including transcriptional activation or repression, similar to other members of the zinc finger protein family. While some zinc finger proteins have roles in various cancers and other diseases, there is currently no direct evidence identifying ZNF546 itself as a therapeutic target, disease biomarker, or direct drug interactor.
