Target intelligence / Profile preview

Zinc finger protein 548 (ZNF548)

Target
ZNF548
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, C2H2-type zinc finger protein
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 548 (ZNF548) is a protein-coding gene in humans belonging to the C2H2-type zinc finger protein family, the largest family of transcription factors. ZNF548 is characterized by its DNA-binding zinc finger motifs, which coordinate zinc ions via conserved cysteine and histidine residues, and is predicted to function in RNA polymerase II-specific transcriptional regulation processes in the nucleus. Although many zinc finger proteins play diverse roles in development, genome stability, and disease, there is no direct evidence linking ZNF548 to specific diseases or therapeutic applications.
