Zinc finger protein 551 (ZNF551) is a DNA-binding transcription factor belonging to the C2H2-type zinc finger protein family, encoded by the ZNF551 gene on chromosome 19. ZNF551 is predicted to be involved in the regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II, gene expression, and sequence-specific DNA binding, and is predominantly localized in the nucleus. Like other zinc finger proteins, its functions are expected to include modulation of gene expression, potentially through transcriptional activation or repression, with potential yet-uncharacterized roles in cellular processes. However, no direct therapeutic, disease, or biomarker relevance has been definitively documented for ZNF551, and it is not considered a druggable target at present.
