Zinc finger protein 559 (ZNF559)

Target
ZNF559
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 559 (ZNF559) is a member of the Krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family, which constitutes a large class of DNA-binding transcription factors in humans. ZNF559 is predicted to be involved mainly in the regulation of gene expression by binding to DNA regulatory regions, although its specific biological roles and molecular targets remain uncharacterized in the literature. Like other C2H2 zinc finger proteins, it likely participates in transcriptional regulation through RNA polymerase II and may contribute to broader processes such as chromatin remodeling and genome stability that are generally attribute to the zinc finger protein family. No evidence supports its direct use as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or its interaction with drugs at this time, and there are currently no reported clinical disease links specific to ZNF559.
