Overview

Zinc finger protein 572 (ZNF572) is a member of the zinc finger protein family, which is characterized by the presence of one or more zinc finger motifs facilitating binding to DNA, RNA, or other proteins. ZNF572 is predicted to act as a transcription factor, primarily involved in the negative regulation of transcription mediated by RNA polymerase II, as well as in the regulation of cytokine production and immune responses. Like other zinc finger transcription factors, ZNF572 likely functions by binding specific DNA sequences to modulate gene expression, but its individual biological roles and direct disease associations remain largely uncharacterized in the scientific literature as of this review. There is no evidence to date that ZNF572 is a direct or established therapeutic target or that it acts as a clinical biomarker.
