Zinc finger protein 584 is a DNA-binding transcription factor predicted to regulate gene expression via interaction with RNA polymerase II cis-regulatory regions. It belongs to the zinc finger protein family, which is noted for its diverse roles in DNA recognition, transcriptional regulation, RNA packaging, and other cellular processes. ZNF584 is expressed in various human tissues, and mutations are associated with rare genetic syndromes such as Lodder-Merla syndrome (type 1) and hereditary retinal dystrophy. Currently, it is not classified as a druggable therapeutic target or used as a clinical biomarker.
