Zinc finger protein 585A (ZNF585A)

Target
ZNF585A
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Krueppel C2H2-type zinc finger protein family
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 585A (ZNF585A) is a member of the Krüppel C2H2-type zinc finger protein family, which is one of the largest superfamilies of DNA-binding proteins in eukaryotes[1][2]. ZNF585A acts as a predicted DNA-binding transcription activator with specificity for RNA polymerase II and is believed to be involved in the regulation of transcription[1]. It is primarily located in the nucleus[1]. ZNF585A has been associated with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, musculocontractural type, 1, but its roles in other diseases and biological processes are not well characterized[1]. There are currently no known drugs directly targeting ZNF585A, nor have specific biomarkers or safety concerns been described in the available literature. Alternative names include FLJ23765 and Zfp27[1][6].
