Overview

Zinc finger protein 605 (ZNF605) is a human protein encoded by the ZNF605 gene located on chromosome 12[2][7][11]. It is predicted to function as a DNA-binding transcription factor, specifically binding to DNA in a sequence-specific manner and likely involved in regulating transcription mediated by RNA polymerase II[2][4][7][10]. As a member of the zinc finger protein family, ZNF605 utilizes zinc ion coordination to stabilize DNA interactions[10]. Its known paralog is ZNF615[2]. ZNF605 is predominantly located in the cell nucleus[2][10]. There is no current evidence of ZNF605 being involved directly in disease, targeted by drugs, or used as a biomarker in patient selection. Currently, ZNF605 is not considered a therapeutic target and is primarily classified as a transcription factor with roles in gene regulation rather than as a receptor, enzyme, or other typical drug target class[2][3][10].
