Zinc finger protein 615 (ZNF615) is a nuclear protein that belongs to the C2H2-type zinc finger protein family, which represents the most common and diverse group of transcription factors in eukaryotes. It is predicted to bind DNA and regulate transcription by RNA polymerase II, and is likely involved in gene expression regulation in various tissues. In the insect model Bombyx mori, ZNF615 has been shown to play a critical role in embryonic development and regulation of nutrient metabolism-related genes, acting downstream of DNA methylation processes. The protein is predicted to be active in the nucleus. There are no known drugs or direct evidence of disease association in humans, and it is not commonly regarded as a classical therapeutic target[1][2].
