Zinc finger protein 618 (ZNF618)

Target
ZNF618
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Zinc finger protein, Chromatin-protein adaptor

Overview

Zinc finger protein 618 (ZNF618) is a human protein encoded by the ZNF618 gene and belongs to the zinc finger C2H2-type family of transcription factors. It acts primarily as a chromatin-protein adaptor, participates in protein dimerization, and is involved in the regulation of DNA-templated transcription. ZNF618 is noted for regulating the function and chromatin localization of UHRF2, a 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) reader. Mutations or dysregulation of ZNF618 have been associated with various cancers, including mixed phenotype acute leukemia and nut midline carcinoma.
