Zinc finger protein 621 is a DNA-binding transcription factor encoded by the human ZNF621 gene on chromosome 3[4][2][7][8]. Like other zinc finger proteins, it is predicted to regulate transcription by binding DNA in a sequence-specific manner—specifically associated with RNA polymerase II cis-regulatory regions[2][5][7]. Zinc finger proteins as a class are structurally diverse and play key roles in gene expression, development, metabolism, and cellular differentiation, typically via their C2H2-type zinc finger motifs[1].
