Zinc finger protein 674 is a DNA-binding transcription factor characterized by an N-terminal Kruppel-associated box (KRAB) domain and eleven C2H2-type zinc finger motifs. It is expressed in various tissues, including the brain, where it likely influences gene expression linked to neural development and cognitive function. Mutations in ZNF674 have been identified in families with nonsyndromic X-linked intellectual disability, where protein truncations or missense variants interfere with DNA binding. ZNF674 is part of a large family of zinc finger proteins that regulate diverse aspects of cellular function by modulating transcription. Currently, ZNF674 is not considered a therapeutic drug target and has no direct pharmacological agents associated with it.
