Overview

Zinc finger protein 700 (ZNF700) is a member of the C2H2-type zinc finger family, the largest group of human transcription factors, characterized by tandem C2H2 zinc finger domains that bind DNA and regulate gene expression[4][5]. ZNF700 is classified as a classical C2H2 zinc finger protein, containing multiple C2H2 repeats that facilitate sequence-specific DNA binding and transcriptional modulation[5][7]. Although the precise biological function of ZNF700 is not comprehensively described in the literature, it is known to be immunogenic and has been identified as a target of autoantibodies in patients with colorectal cancer, supporting its potential utility as a minimally invasive biomarker for disease detection[7]. Beyond this, ZNF700 shares the general roles of zinc finger proteins, which include regulating gene expression, influencing cell differentiation, and contributing to genome stability[1][3][5]. There is no compelling evidence that ZNF700 serves as a direct therapeutic target (such as a receptor or enzyme), nor are there any approved drugs known to specifically interact with it.
