Zinc finger protein 707 is a protein coding gene in humans (gene symbol: ZNF707) encoding a member of the large zinc finger C2H2-type protein family. These proteins are characterized by one or more zinc finger domains, which bind DNA and mediate transcriptional regulation. ZNF707 is predicted, based on domain analysis, to act as a sequence-specific transcription factor involved in regulating gene expression by RNA polymerase II, localized to the nucleus. While alterations in zinc finger proteins contribute to developmental and disease processes, ZNF707 itself is primarily associated (but not causally linked) with ovarian clear cell adenocarcinoma in gene-disease databases. There are no commonly reported drugs, biomarkers, or safety concerns related to ZNF707 activity in the current biomedical literature.
