Zinc finger protein 723 (ZNF723) is a protein-coding gene predicted to encode a C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factor that binds to specific DNA sequences and regulates transcription via RNA polymerase II[4][1][3]. It is presumed to localize to the nucleus, where it may act in the regulation of gene expression. Like other zinc finger proteins, it likely exerts functional roles in controlling transcription, but there is currently limited evidence to support any direct or disease-specific biological functions, and no established drug-targeting information exists[4][1][3]. ZNF723 is associated by gene linkage with tracheomalacia, but there are no known roles in common drug development, therapy, or as a clinical biomarker at this time[4].
