Overview

Zinc finger protein 726 pseudogene 1 (ZNF726P1) is a human pseudogene related to the zinc finger protein gene family. It is predicted to possess sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription factor activity and may have a role in the regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II, but there is no evidence that it is transcribed into a functional protein. Its biological significance and role in disease remain unclear. This locus is an annotated pseudogene and is not currently considered a therapeutic target[1][3].
