Target intelligence / Profile preview

Zinc finger protein 729 (ZNF729)

Target
ZNF729
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, C2H2-type zinc finger protein
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 729 is a member of the C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factor family, predicted to enable sequence-specific DNA binding and transcriptional activation, especially for genes regulated by RNA polymerase II[1][5][6]. It is predominantly localized in the cell nucleus, where it may contribute to transcriptional regulation. While the biological role of ZNF729 is inferred from its structural classification and predicted activity, there is currently no direct evidence linking ZNF729 to well-characterized disease mechanisms, therapeutic interventions, or druggability. Its closest biological relatives and paralogs, such as ZNF99, share similar putative roles in gene expression modulation. More research is needed to define its precise functional impact[5][6].
