Zinc finger protein 730 is a nuclear, DNA-binding transcription factor belonging to the C2H2-type zinc finger protein family, the largest class of transcription factors in humans. The protein contains 12 C2H2 zinc finger motifs and one KRAB domain, functioning in transcriptional regulation by binding specific DNA sequences and potentially interacting with other proteins and RNA. ZNF730 is highly expressed in the testis, brain, lymph nodes, and placenta, and is implicated in processes such as gametogenesis and central nervous system development. Mutations or altered expression of ZNF730 have been found in a subset of endometrial and breast cancers, suggesting potential oncogenic roles. Although ZNF730 is not currently considered a direct therapeutic target, its regulatory functions and roles in cancer biology continue to be explored.
