Zinc finger protein 736 pseudogene 7, Y-linked (ZNF736P7Y) is a pseudogene on the human Y chromosome, annotated as a non-functional copy of the zinc finger protein 736 gene, lacking the capacity to encode a functional protein. Pseudogenes can occasionally be transcribed into non-coding RNAs, with possible low-level, tissue-specific expression, but ZNF736P7Y has no established biological role or relevance as a drug target. Although some pseudogenes in the zinc finger family have shown regulatory functions by acting as microRNA decoys or influencing gene expression, ZNF736P7Y itself is not known to participate in such activities and remains classified as a genomic pseudogene without therapeutic importance.
