Zinc finger protein 740 (ZNF740)

Target
ZNF740
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Krueppel C2H2-type zinc finger protein family
01

Overview

Zinc finger protein 740 (ZNF740) is a transcription factor belonging to the Krueppel C2H2-type zinc finger family, involved in sequence-specific DNA binding and transcriptional regulation[3][4]. In cancer biology, ZNF740 is upregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma, where it promotes cell proliferation, migration, and invasion via the METTL3/HIF1A signaling axis and regulates epigenetic RNA modification[1]. In acute myeloid leukemia, ZNF740 is a critical determinant of sensitivity to the BCL-2 inhibitor venetoclax by regulating the transcription of the pro-apoptotic gene NOXA, thereby influencing apoptotic responses and mediating therapeutic resistance or sensitivity. Its expression is associated with various disease states, including cancer and cardiovascular disease via NPPA gene regulation[1][2][4].
