Overview

Zinc finger protein 774 (ZNF774) is a member of the C2H2-type zinc finger protein family, which is the largest transcription factor family in the human genome. ZNF774 is a protein-coding gene predicted to function primarily as a DNA-binding transcription factor that regulates gene expression by binding to specific DNA sequences and modulating transcription by RNA polymerase II[4][7][15]. These proteins usually act in the nucleus and may be involved in a range of regulatory pathways controlling gene activity, but ZNF774 itself has not been specifically described as a therapeutic target, nor has it been directly implicated in major disease processes or targeted by drugs at this time. The molecular function is inferred by homology to other zinc finger proteins, and there is no direct evidence linking ZNF774 to specific physiological or pathological roles[4][7][15].
